Wednesday Fun Leads to More

The past few summers I have missed taking the girls to the Wednesday fun nights at WestGate, this year I was able to take them to two and am hoping I can take them even more next year.

The first night we went it was IronMan and Spiderman there. If we had a receipt from WichWich for $10+ then we didn’t have to stand in a line for pictures. I got there later than I wanted and thought for sure there would still be a line, even on the receipt side, but there was not. And boy was I glad after seeing the actual line, we might have been there all night! Ok, well at least until the end of all the other festivities.

Makaylah won a free two pack of donuts from Fractured Prune, they are delicious if you have not gone, you must! they make the donut right when you order it. You get to choose the toppings, glaze, drizzle etc. We ended up going on the weekend, but the girls were happy to get more time out of the house.

We went the following Wednesday and saw Princess Elena. The girls had fun dancing and we enjoyed Shane’s Ribs (no pictures but it was good BBQ).  They have something going on from the time it starts till it ends. We saw a dance performance from a local dance school, the girls got to do a few activities up on stage, etc. Definitely hoping to take the girls a few more times next year. Blessed to work at a company that has a good life/work balance.

Remember, before we know it the time we have now with our kids will be gone, make the most of it! It can be done around work, sure you are tired, but this time with them means the world to them.

Thanks for catching up on our crazy adventures.

4th of July, Weekend Fun, and Family

July is half over already?! Wowza!

4th of July was a fun weekend for us. We enjoyed a BBQ with our NFF Family. The girls loved the pool, and the youngest didn’t want to get out. From light to night she was in there.

I was able to get in some mom/daughter dates over the extended weekend as well. Both the younger ones wanted a frozen yogurt date, so frozen yogurt they got.

My oldest picked a movie, The  House, so we went and enjoyed some AC, good snacks, and some laughs.

We celebrated 4th of July with my husbands family. The girls all loved being around family and seeing their cousins! It was a very nice relaxing afternoon, and again the two younger ones loved the pool time!

The following weekend we had some “business” mixed with personal. The younger two girls had their yearly Dr. check ups then we headed to Tucson to visit family. The girls love going to see family! We enjoyed a great lunch and a good visit. Then we headed to The Red Lion Inn to stay the night so the drive there and back wouldn’t be so hard.

I was pretty impressed at what we got. The room had a partial kitchen, and I say that because while it didn’t have an oven, it had a cook top including a few pans to use. They even provide a little Palmolive Dish soap!

There is a complimentary happy hour, and they have soda for those who are too young or just do not drink wine. The girls were pretty happy with the snack options.

My oldest had some online school work she needed to catch up on, so while she stayed inside I took the little two out to…can you guess?….that’s right THE POOL! lol

The hotel also included a breakfast in the morning and I have to say it was one of the best breakfasts we have had at a hotel (one that was complimentary anyways). They had sausage, potatoes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, cereal, hot cereal, waffles, bagels and other pastries. The girls were happy and had seconds!

Yesterday, 7/12, I took the girls to their first Westgate Wednesday event they do during the summer. They loved it! To cut the photo line this week you had to show a receipt from Wich Wich for $15 or more, between certain dates, so I took them there to get something to eat. I love their Ultimate BLT! The girls enjoyed a grilled cheese.

Then when we were done eating, we were able to go get pictures taken with Iron Man and Spider-Man! Thank goodness we were able to bi-pass the regular line we would’ve been standing there for the whole event! The girls had a little fun in the little splash pad area that is there and then just enjoyed dancing and getting called up on stage for a few games. My youngest even won Fractured Prune Donut Pack!

I definitely plan on making this a regular thing next year as this year is almost over for the summer events.

It’s so important to get in as much time with our kiddos as possible, esp if you are a working parent. Make the most of your time with them, let them know they are loved.

Thanks for catching up on our craziness!

Oh, I will leave you with this. I am now 19 weeks along with little Arizona! Almost half way done!

Water – Tucson Trip – 60th Birthday

I am so blessed to have found a group of people that do things through the year for the community around us, focus on military/vets/homeless vets. One of the friends of the club works with homeless vets, and it’s a very hot time of year for us right now so they collect water to hand out. Our shop came through in such a big way, it makes my heart happy to know these people, and help their causes.

We went back to Tucson to visit my mom for her 60th birthday, and my sister and her family came over as well. This time I did get some pictures, but I still missed one of my nephews! Next time I will get everyone! Our youngest nephew, pictured below, is just now about 4 months, he is so cute!

One of the things my mom loves, is being crafty/artsy, so she likes to try and plan something to do with the kids when they go. Wish such a range of ages, it’s hard sometimes to get something that everyone will enjoy, but the girls have always seemed to love what she has for them. This time, it was painting using a toilet paper flower, I am not sure how else to explain it and of course I didn’t get a picture of them. After the girls were done using that, they used paint brushes, colored pens, markers to finish their work of Art.

We just enjoyed a fast lunch of pizza, gets hard traveling and making something etc. The kids were pretty pleased. 🙂 My sister made an amazing black forest cake, can’t wait to see that recipe! My mom enjoyed some gifts and bright flowers.

It was a great weekend with awesome friends/family. Love those kind of weekends. I guess now I have to start getting my next couple weeks worth of  meals planned and get my shopping list done. Trying very hard to stay healthy through the rest of this pregnancy. Of course pizza here and there never hurts. Thank you for catching up with us!

Foodstock, Crafts, and Mother’s Day

My goodness I don’t know where the time goes! We have been having fun staying busy around work and school.

We started last weekend off at Home Depot where there was a make and take activity for the kids, and it was perfect for Mother’s Day! They got to make a flower pot. Their next one is June 3rd, they will be making a tic tac toe game, see if there is one in your area.

Then there was a Foodfest at a local sports park, so many food trucks, so many different types of food. They all smelled amazing. My oldest wanted a horchata and at the same truck they had strawberry and a couple other melon waters, but the strawberry sounded good to me and a great way to get some hydration. The little two are a little more picky so they just got waters.

Foodfest drinks

We started off with face painting, and then the way we walked in was right next to an ice cream truck, and this pregnant mama wanted ice cream, so the girls got spoiled and got to have dessert first. Then we went to the bounce house area, the girls had some fun there but with the sun beating down we didn’t stay too long in that area. Then the hunt for actual lunch food, since we already had dessert, was on! A lot of the trucks offered samples for a cheap price, or some dishes for regular price. We went to 2 Fat Guys Grilled Cheese truck and got a regular grilled cheese for the girls, they use garlic bread! Amazing! I still hadn’t found something that was calling my name so we kept walking and then got to the Pirate Ship Splash Pad and the girls couldn’t wait to cool off so we stayed there for a bit.

While there my oldest noticed that there was a Henna Tattoo place set up, so she got a Henna Tattoo on the side of her neck while we let the little two play.

Foodfest Henna

Finally, hunger kicked in so we got the little two dried off and back on the hunt for food we went. I found this BBQ Pork truck that had pulled pork nachos. OMG! They had baked beans on them, cheese, and topped with pulled BBQ pork, they were amazing! I never EVER would’ve thought about putting baked beans on nachos!

Foodfest Nachos

My youngest wasn’t feeling so good on Monday and neither was I so we stayed home and got some rest. We both went to work, her to school, on Tuesday and that night she was running a fever. Poor thing ended up with Bronchitis. So I worked from home Wednesday, so blessed that I can do that, and she came in to work with me Thursday and Friday (since she still had a fever). She was luck and caught a nap both days at work. Gosh it’s hard going to work with mom, all these activities to do, watching NetFlix on her tablet, and napping, lol.

Makaylah at work

Tuesday, I wore my new LulaRoe Outfit that was given to me for an early birthday present by an amazing friend. If you aren’t sure what LulaRoe is, you should check out my friends (different friend) group on Facebook. They are some of the most comfortable clothes I have ever worn, and they aren’t just leggings, there are several top styles, skirts, dresses, even wraps!

Birthday Outfit

This past weekend for a birthday event, I was trying to find a paint night, and someone tagged me in a wine glass event that was going on. I have never painted wine glasses so it was prefect! I didn’t get a picture of everyone’s glasses, but they were all so amazing, we had the same instructions and yet made them our own.

Mother’s Day my husband wanted to take me out, but mornings on weekends we are all very slow so we didn’t make it out for breakfast, but made it out for lunch instead lol. We went to Claim Jumpers and the food was amazing! They even had Mother’s Day coloring mats for the girls, and even my oldest decided she wanted one.

I ended up getting the Tri-Tip Dip sandwich and we ended it with their Chocolate Motherload Cake, wowza!

We sure know how to stay busy and have fun! Please don’t ask to see my house, lol. I hope all you mama’s, dads playing the role of both, grandma’s etc. had a great day yesterday! You deserve it! ❤

I hope you all had a great Easter! Our weekend was a little crazy since we wanted to try and get a photo with the Easter Bunny near our house. The good news is I had a cookie delivery, so the girls were happy about that while we were waiting.

We waited for about 1 hour and 15 minutes and then as we were toward the front, the poor bunny was over heated. He took a break and someone followed after him with some water. Unfortunately we weren’t able to wait until he came back, but my oldest was able to check out a few places she was interested in working at, so it was time well spent together.

Sunday morning the girls woke up to their Easter Baskets.

Then we headed off to service at The Rock Church in Goodyear. Poor Arianna stayed home with a low temp. Makaylah got to enjoy an egg hunt and a few other fun activities they had planned for the kids. She was so sweet and gave over half of her eggs to her sister when we got home. ❤

I helped out in the Afterschock room, so with some help from DLTK Kids, I did The Angel Rolled the Stone Away craft.

I decided to let the kiddos color their angels if they chose or they could keep them white. I love craft time with the kiddos on the Sundays I am back there with them.

We ended the day at home just relaxing, and made a nice and small ham dinner.

I will try to share my upcoming crafts ahead of time for those who might be interested in doing something similar. Thanks for following our crazy! Now go enjoy yours. ❤

Weekend Fun

This weekend started off with a fun night of dinner and painting at my daughter’s after school program, The Boys and Girls Club.

I feel it is important to keep family first. Sometimes we do not have a choice, and we have to work a little longer or later, and sometimes we have to put family before work. It should balance out, and if it’s not, rethink what you are doing. I had to do that several years ago, I was putting in 10+ hours a day, not seeing my kids at night, exhausted on the weekends, and not getting quality time with my family.

This night was important to them, they were looking forward to it, so I made it a priority. They were so excited to be able to do their own painting, and they can’t wait until I can get a hook on the paintings to put them up on the walls.

Saturday was about helping others. My husband and I made a run to Costco to get some gallon size bags to load up with water and snack items.

We made 54 bags each filled with a water, bag of chips, crackers, granola bar, and motts fruit snacks. The girls absolutely love when we form our little assembly line to get things done for others.

After we got everything bagged it up, we got it packed up ready to go.

There is an organization that has events a few times a month called Ignite Change AZ, I found them on Facebook. This was the second event I was able to go to, and my oldest goes with me. She loves being able to help hand items out.

I love that my girls hearts are in helping others. There is so much around us that we can do, we just have to look and then get involved. Family first, then helping others as often as we can. I hope you had a great weekend with your loved ones!
