Mom/Daughter Time

I have tried making it a point to get some mom/daughter time, we call them dates, with each of the girls. They are each different and like different things, and yes of course they have several of the same interests and we use those for our family times out.

Up first was a pedicure date with Makaylah. Out of the little two, well current little two lol, she is more girly girl and loves this stuff! She actually wants to a pedicure/manicure appointment for her upcoming birthday day with me.

Arianna was next and loves frozen yogurt, so we went to Menchies and enjoyed a little talking over frozen deliciousness.

Sonya’s was a little more unique this month. She has been wanting a tattoo, the OM, and I finally took her to get it. Pretty pleased with the tattoo she picked and we were both happy with how it turned out.

We started September off taking advantage of both of us being off on Labor Day, and took the girls to Great Skate, enjoyed pizza, the little two skated, and dad and the girls enjoyed some games before we left. Our oldest went to the session after with some of her friends. See…do what you can now before they want to spend time with other people.

It doesn’t have to cost a lot, it doesn’t have to be every weekend, but I do feel that time alone with you little helps them be more open with talking to you, and they feel special. Make the most of the time you can.

Thank you for reading about our crazy adventures!

Graduation Party, Tucson Trip, Baby Girl, and More!

Phew, I feel like I fall behind on posting what we are up to, and then when I post three is so much to catch up on! The craziness we call life never ends right?!

So first up was a graduation party that we went to as a family. I can’t believe how fast time has flown. the girls got to enjoy some pool time, and then my oldest decided she didn’t really want to be captured on photo, lol. We had some great food, great laughs, and were very appreciative to have been included in this special occasion.

Pool party

I had originally opted to not do any testing, and then at another appointment decided to go ahead and do testing and add the gender test. We are having our fourth girl! So crazy, but we make some beautiful girls so one more is just fine. ❤

It's a girl

We took a trip to Tucson to visit my uncle’s family and my sister came over too! It was great to see her. And I don’t know what happened, but I severely lacked in the picture department while there. However, my youngest had my oldest take a picture of her at the rest stop on the way back, because she knows I love pictures! Lol

The girls get to dress up on Fridays. I think they are two of the only ones to be consistent with it, but they look forward to each new week. First they Alohaed into Summer, then the Pirates took on the Caribbean, and then Superheroes took on Villians!

I am now 15 weeks, well almost 16 weeks, along with this little girl. We haven’t settled on a name yet, but there are are a few in the works.

15 weeks

I tried chicken and waffles a while ago, probably like a few years ago, with a friend. However, it was said that we have got to try LoLo’s, so I finally did! I have to admit, it was much better than the first try somewhere else. Their cornbread was great too, however the actual corn kernels threw me off a little.

I took the girls out to frozen yogurt since we weren’t able to make the last food truck event. They were happy to be inside where it was nice and cool with a nice cool treat!

I ordered TruVision rePlace shakes. They come packed with 20 grams of protein and so many other nutrients your body needs. I also got some Heart and Hydration. With this heat sucking everything out of a person I want to stay hydrated but make sure my other levels are good as well. Best part, it’s better than a sports drink, less the sugar and calories! I plan to have the rePlace at night after working out, or as a snack if I am feeling extra hungry during the day.

To help celebrate a friends birthday, we went and had lunch, and then we got pedicures. It was nice. And it was a reminder to myself that we need to treat ourselves like that, more than just once or twice a year.

I have to say I love Walmart Grocery ordering, and picking up and done. It has been saving me so much time! Now normally I would have a separate post about meal prepping with recipes, but I didn’t save the links. So I will share some of what I did and next time I will be sure to have links.

For breakfasts this week we are having paleo chocolate waffles, pumkin pancakes and muffins. I threw some mini chocolate chips in the muffins and waffles. I make some scrambled eggs in the morning and cut up some fruit and done.

For lunches this week, I have BLT salad with a balsamic vinegar dressing, and chicken egg roll in a bowl.

For dinners, I prepped a few veggies packs (carrots, red potatoes, and cabbage) to go with some corned beef we had in the freezer. *Hint, when packing something to go in the crock pot, put what you want on top, in the bag first* I also cut up some chicken breast into smaller pieces to make crispy chicken tenders. I am using up some other items we have in the freezer like a roast and other veggies, and then I got some spaghetti and garlic bread for a couple easy dinners, one this week and one next.

The tenders didn’t come out how I was hoping in our Airfyer, so I will try it a little different net time. the fries I am always happy with how they turn out. nice and crispy.

This week we started off with a Kona Ice truck coming to work! It was a great cool down treat for a week of high temps!

If you live in the Phoenix area, or another area were there are high temps (triple digits yikes) stay well hydrated! thank you for checking in our craziness. Enjoy life, be kind, show love!

Foodstock, Crafts, and Mother’s Day

My goodness I don’t know where the time goes! We have been having fun staying busy around work and school.

We started last weekend off at Home Depot where there was a make and take activity for the kids, and it was perfect for Mother’s Day! They got to make a flower pot. Their next one is June 3rd, they will be making a tic tac toe game, see if there is one in your area.

Then there was a Foodfest at a local sports park, so many food trucks, so many different types of food. They all smelled amazing. My oldest wanted a horchata and at the same truck they had strawberry and a couple other melon waters, but the strawberry sounded good to me and a great way to get some hydration. The little two are a little more picky so they just got waters.

Foodfest drinks

We started off with face painting, and then the way we walked in was right next to an ice cream truck, and this pregnant mama wanted ice cream, so the girls got spoiled and got to have dessert first. Then we went to the bounce house area, the girls had some fun there but with the sun beating down we didn’t stay too long in that area. Then the hunt for actual lunch food, since we already had dessert, was on! A lot of the trucks offered samples for a cheap price, or some dishes for regular price. We went to 2 Fat Guys Grilled Cheese truck and got a regular grilled cheese for the girls, they use garlic bread! Amazing! I still hadn’t found something that was calling my name so we kept walking and then got to the Pirate Ship Splash Pad and the girls couldn’t wait to cool off so we stayed there for a bit.

While there my oldest noticed that there was a Henna Tattoo place set up, so she got a Henna Tattoo on the side of her neck while we let the little two play.

Finally, hunger kicked in so we got the little two dried off and back on the hunt for food we went. I found this BBQ Pork truck that had pulled pork nachos. OMG! They had baked beans on them, cheese, and topped with pulled BBQ pork, they were amazing! I never EVER would’ve thought about putting baked beans on nachos!

Foodfest Nachos

My youngest wasn’t feeling so good on Monday and neither was I so we stayed home and got some rest. We both went to work, her to school, on Tuesday and that night she was running a fever. Poor thing ended up with Bronchitis. So I worked from home Wednesday, so blessed that I can do that, and she came in to work with me Thursday and Friday (since she still had a fever). She was luck and caught a nap both days at work. Gosh it’s hard going to work with mom, all these activities to do, watching NetFlix on her tablet, and napping, lol.

Makaylah at work

Tuesday, I wore my new LulaRoe Outfit that was given to me for an early birthday present by an amazing friend. If you aren’t sure what LulaRoe is, you should check out my friends (different friend) group on Facebook. They are some of the most comfortable clothes I have ever worn, and they aren’t just leggings, there are several top styles, skirts, dresses, even wraps!

Birthday Outfit

This past weekend for a birthday event, I was trying to find a paint night, and someone tagged me in a wine glass event that was going on. I have never painted wine glasses so it was prefect! I didn’t get a picture of everyone’s glasses, but they were all so amazing, we had the same instructions and yet made them our own.

Mother’s Day my husband wanted to take me out, but mornings on weekends we are all very slow so we didn’t make it out for breakfast, but made it out for lunch instead lol. We went to Claim Jumpers and the food was amazing! They even had Mother’s Day coloring mats for the girls, and even my oldest decided she wanted one.

I ended up getting the Tri-Tip Dip sandwich and we ended it with their Chocolate Motherload Cake, wowza!

We sure know how to stay busy and have fun! Please don’t ask to see my house, lol. I hope all you mama’s, dads playing the role of both, grandma’s etc. had a great day yesterday! You deserve it! ❤

Weekend Fun

This weekend started off with a fun night of dinner and painting at my daughter’s after school program, The Boys and Girls Club.

I feel it is important to keep family first. Sometimes we do not have a choice, and we have to work a little longer or later, and sometimes we have to put family before work. It should balance out, and if it’s not, rethink what you are doing. I had to do that several years ago, I was putting in 10+ hours a day, not seeing my kids at night, exhausted on the weekends, and not getting quality time with my family.

This night was important to them, they were looking forward to it, so I made it a priority. They were so excited to be able to do their own painting, and they can’t wait until I can get a hook on the paintings to put them up on the walls.

Saturday was about helping others. My husband and I made a run to Costco to get some gallon size bags to load up with water and snack items.

We made 54 bags each filled with a water, bag of chips, crackers, granola bar, and motts fruit snacks. The girls absolutely love when we form our little assembly line to get things done for others.

After we got everything bagged it up, we got it packed up ready to go.

There is an organization that has events a few times a month called Ignite Change AZ, I found them on Facebook. This was the second event I was able to go to, and my oldest goes with me. She loves being able to help hand items out.

I love that my girls hearts are in helping others. There is so much around us that we can do, we just have to look and then get involved. Family first, then helping others as often as we can. I hope you had a great weekend with your loved ones!
